A machine behind another
Recently, I got a job offer from a new startup with a pretty good compensation package.
However, it came at a price. One of the co-founders told me that since they are an early stage startup, I have to work long hours for 6 days a week and Sunday wasn’t a guaranteed off.
How long?
Well, about 12-13 hours a day, every day.
I told him it was insane. How can I be productive, working like that? I’m sure I’d get burned out after 2-3 weeks.
His reply was interesting:
“But you said that you were bored with your work and looking for challenges.”
Of course, I’m looking for challenges. However, that doesn’t imply that I want to be a machine behind another machine.
I want to have a life outside my work. I want to spend quality time with my significant other. I want to pursue my dreams.
And I told him just that.
For me, my time and life are _more important _than money.
What about you?
